Sports Day this year was lots of fun in Scoil Cholmcille! We started the day competing in races where you get medals if you got in the top three , we had fun races like the three legged race and the wheel barrow race, we had parachute games, we had a bouncy castle and we had football and dodgeball.
From 9:10 to 10:10 we had races such as 100m sprints , 400m races, relay races and we also had a bouncy castle. The 100m race was divided into boys and girls races . The 400m race was a long race in which the top 3 got medals. The relay race involved having 4 people on each team and we all had to work together to win. Then there was a bouncy castle that 2 people at a time ran through and had a race. Finally, there was a parents race where parents who came to watch got the opportunity to compete. Well done to all the parents who competed!
After a little break we went straight back into the fun of Sports’s Day. From 11:10 to 12:10 we were able to choose between football and dodgeball. We had fun races such as the three legged race and the wheel barrow race. We had parachute games where we had loads of fun swapping with each other and finally, we had more time to race each other on the bouncy castle.
After all that we had a second break which was followed by a medal presentation, where people who won medals were presented with them by Ms O’Brien, Ms Dean and Ms Murtagh. We were all so excited to see Pinky's ice cream van and we all got delicious ice cream. Then we played dodgeball and sixth played the other sixth. Also fifth played the other fifth and fourth played the other fourth and third played the other third.(M Cassidy’s sixth class beat Mr Horgan's sixth class in dodgeball!!!)
