Science Day 2026

26th Mar 2026

On Tuesday, March 24th, our school transformed into a bustling laboratory as we celebrated Science Day. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work, and we were thrilled to see so many students, teachers, and parents engaging with the exhibits.

The hall was filled with curiosity as students led a wide variety of interactive experiments. Highlights from the day included:

  • Making oobleck, the Skittles color experiment, creating lava lamps, "Magic Milk," and blowing up balloons with gas.

  • Demonstrating static electricity, refraction, and building functional electricity circuits.

  • Building towers and designing effective water filters.

  • Mummifying tomatoes, sprouting seeds to eat, and the gummy bear osmosis experiment.

  • The floating egg challenge, oil and water mixtures, and a Newtonian reverse spinner.

We were also very lucky to welcome Muhammad H. Al Omoush , who brought along his robot, Sam.

Muhammad has been designing and developing Sam as part of his PhD studies at DCU, working alongside students and teachers to create a tool to help students with dyslexia in maths. The students had a great fun testing Sam out and seeing first hand how robotics can make learning more accessible and fun.

A huge thank you to everyone involved—students, staff, and parents for your enthusiasm and support. You made the day a big success!
