Creative School Committee
Scoil Cholmcille SNS were lucky enough to be selected as a Creative School.
What is Creative Schools?
This two-year child-led programme enhances the creative potential of every pupil by stimulating curiosity, communication and collaboration. Since 2018, they have supported more than 1,000 schools to become Creative Schools.
The programme is led by the Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Education, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media and Creative Ireland. Creative Schools is part of the Creative Youth Plan.
We were delighted to welcome our Creative Associate, Karl Quinn, to the school for his first meeting with Ms. Dean and our Creative Schools Committee. This initial meeting was a valuable opportunity to discuss what the Creative Schools project involves and to begin planning ideas for the year ahead.
Karl shared insights into the creative process and how the project can support creativity across the school community. The meeting was full of enthusiasm, collaboration, and exciting possibilities, and we are really looking forward to working together as the Creative Schools journey gets underway.
