May was another busy and exciting month in Room 11! 🎉
🎾 We wrapped up our tennis lessons with some fantastic round-robin competitions. Everyone showed great sportsmanship and teamwork, and it was wonderful to see how much our tennis skills have improved over the past few weeks.
⭐ We also completed four Blue Star quizzes in Ms Roe's room alongside Sixth Class. We learned all about the History, Geography, Culture and Creativity, and Institutions of the European Union. We worked hard and enjoyed expanding our knowledge of Europe. Some of our students even spoke about the Blue Star Programme at assembly!
🎻 One of the highlights of the month was our visit to the National Concert Hall to listen to Peter and the Wolf. We heard many different instruments from the orchestra and learned how music can tell a story. 🎶 It was a memorable musical experience for us all!
📚 We were also lucky enough to attend the Irish Literature Festival, where author Alex Dunne spoke to us about her new book, Small Magics. ✨ We loved hearing about her writing process and were inspired to create our own "small magics" afterwards.
📝 Back in the classroom, we worked very hard on our end-of-year tests and showed great determination and focus throughout. We are proud of all our efforts! 💪
📖 We finished reading The Boy at the Back of the Class, a book we thoroughly enjoyed. With the beautiful weather, we made the most of outdoor reading opportunities whenever we could. ☀️🌳
🌍 Our multicultural projects continued to develop, and we enjoyed learning more about the different cultures represented in our class and around the world.
🍎🥕 Congratulations to all the students who earned Food Dudes certificates this month for eating plenty of fruit and vegetables and making healthy choices!
🏃♂️🏃♀️ Some of our students proudly represented the school at Santry Sports Day and returned with some impressive silverware! 🥈🏆 We are very proud of their achievements and the excellent way they represented our school.
Well done to everyone in Room 11 for another fantastic month. We are looking forward to all the exciting activities still to come before the summer holidays! ☀️😎
