๐ŸŒผ March in Room Eleven ๐ŸŒผ

27th Mar 2026

We’ve had a very busy and exciting month in Room Eleven!

๐Ÿ“– We really enjoyed watching the show Stair as Gaeilge — it had us all laughing and was a great way to practise our Irish in a fun way. For World Book Day, we dressed up as our favourite characters and took part in a brilliant Book vs Soccer quiz on Zoom. There was great competition and lots of fun!

๐Ÿงช We also finished off our LEGO creations, showing fantastic creativity and teamwork. In Science, we explored how water moves through plants by learning about the xylem. Our experiment using food dye, water and celery sticks was a big hit and helped us see this process in action.

โ˜˜๏ธ For Seachtain na Gaeilge, we took part in some lively céilí dancing and were very lucky to have a visitor come in and play traditional Irish musical instruments for us — a real treat! We dressed up in green for Lá Glas and enjoyed watching the scannán The Secret of Kells. We also created beautiful seanfhocail posters, now proudly displayed outside our classroom, and designed some intricate Celtic art.

๐Ÿ“ In procedural writing, we got hands-on by making ham and cheese toasties, rocky road, and fresh fruit salads — delicious and fun learning all in one!

๐ŸŒท We’ve been making the most of the good weather with tennis lessons and rounders during PE. In Art, we brightened up our classroom and school with colourful spring paintings of daffodils and bicycles using paint and oil pastels.

๐Ÿ” We also celebrated Science Day, where our class showcased experiments on static electricity. It was fantastic to see all the other classes’ creative and exciting projects too.

๐Ÿงฆ To finish the month, we learned about Down Syndrome for World Down Syndrome Day and made our own sock puppets — a lovely way to celebrate inclusion and understanding.

A wonderful month of learning, creativity and fun in Room Eleven! ๐ŸŒŸ
